Healing your brain

I was listening to a TV program about the brain and was very impressed with the information in this program was talking about. I wanted to share this information because we are all suffering from forgetfulness. Even people of a much younger age. I am seeing this memory problem more and more around the early age of 40 to 45. This information was easy to understand. As a light worker it really resonated with me. I wanted to share this with you. I learned how bad I have treated my brain when I was younger, popping pills, drinking tequila, I used to take over the counter medication. I am surprised my brain actually is still functioning.

When I was diagnosed with having a stoke at the hospital, they scanned my brain. I was happy to see I had not screwed my brain up too bad; I also learned my attitude and thoughts has a lot to do with keeping your brain in good shape. This guy actually talked about being grateful for simple things, like appreciation for having a nice clear cold glass of water, we don’t even think about it, it just comes out of the faucet, or refrigerator faucets. You really enjoy it on a very hot day. How simple is the act of thankfulness and appreciation. Some of us don’t even think about it. He too mentioned how negative thoughts effect our brain and our whole function in our body. Have you heard of this before? Health does not only depend upon vitamin intake, eating the right foods and exercise but having a good attitude of life, letting those who you love know how much you appreciate them and how much you love them.

He mentioned how vitamins like fish oil helps with depression, vitamin D helps in addition to St. Johns Wort supplements. Something I did not know is that if you are taking St. John Wort supplements and birth control pills, you could get pregnant, because St, John Wort supplements contradicts with birth control pills. Wow, I wonder if that information is on the package? YES, in the very small letters. Who reads all the small letters? Next thing you know you are pregnant. I did not know that information! Did you know that?

He also shared a what affects the brain, its memory and its functioning.

  1. Smoking – Be it Pot, cigarettes or, anything you place in your lungs that is not air!

I used to smoke pot in my younger years, and my brain probably looked like the brain illustration below.

He shows what the brain looks when you smoke pot on a frequented basis. I don’t smoke as much, since I learned meditation works just as well. Unless your looking for a high, you can get that thru hypnosis without smoking pot. Worked on a client who had run out of marijuana and could not afford to buy some. Isn’t it called “dope” too? Interesting…

  1. Drinking alcohol excessively. So, its ok to get a buzz???
  2. Drug abuse – Even over the counter medications like Aleve. Too much Aleve kills brain cells.
  3. Brain Trauma- Like our soldiers in the military, people who have experienced severe trauma.
  4. Not enough sleep. What? lack of sleep kills braincells???? WOW. Didn’t know this fact either.
  5. Too much stress- This Doctor also showed brain under stress. Ugh!
  6. Blood pressure medication at a high dose of; kills brain cells, some of the symptoms of this is dizziness. This makes sense.
  7. Cleaning products- also effects your brain cells always use a mask, when using cleaning products always use them where there is good ventilation.

Wisdom is a brain function, Normal is a myth, no one is normal we all have mental issues, is another good statement. Another good and understandable medical discovery as a Brain Doctor he showed that Alzheimer’s starts 30 years before you’re diagnosed and by the time you are diagnosed its too late. Another good discovery. Get yourself some Lavender oils or just lavender leaves smelling incense to help lighten up your mood and life which helps makes your heart and life lighter. I have a little bag filled with lavender leaves next to my computer and I smell it when I get frustrated with the computer. Calms me right down.

How do we turn around all this negative information about hurting our brain?

  1. Love yourself and your brain.
  2. Turn your negative thoughts into positive thoughts.
  3. Green Tea! I heard this stuff is good for everything including lowering blood sugar. (I will have to start drinking lots of this.)
  4. St John Wort helps with depression and moods.
  5. Medical hypnosis to help relax or good night’s sleep.
  6. Music Therapy for stress.
  7. Lavender aromatherapy.
  8. Practicing will power makes for a magnificent mind.
  9. Low blood sugar, keeping it balanced.
  10. Nightly sleep, more than 6 hours sleep a night.
  11. Supplements like Ginkgo Bilbao, Sage, Huperzine.
  12. Supplement’s for sleeping like Melatonin, Valerian, Kava Kava, 5 HTP, Fish oil.
  13. Acupuncture, Healthy Brain Diet, Lean protein, Omega 3s (fish, salmon, Tuna) Avocados, walnuts, red peppers.
  14. Exercise, Exercise, Exercise !

This helps the circulation of the blood and kidneys to clean out toxins, this helps blood flow to the brain.

  1. Mental exercise- example of this is to learn something new. Dancing steps, learn to play an instrument, explore another country, learn a new language. Keep the brain active.
  2. Write 5 things you love or appreciate about your life every day just 5.
  3. Write 5 things you love and you appreciate about 5 other people
  4. Notice how beautiful somethings are: the trees, the flowers, your love for others. What may make you happy or joyful, whatever makes you smile.
  5. I am going to hang this information where I can see it every day.
  6. The name of this Doctor is Daniel Gregory Amen MD, he is a Doctor who is dedicated to healing brains, he is also a psychologist. he has a clinic in Tacoma Washington, and some around the nation. He has written books, workbooks and has DVDs and CDs, that are very essentials to a healthy brains. Look him up on line. VERY IMPORTANT.

I wanted to share this very important information with all who are interested in learning why your brain or memory get so foggy, some days more than others. Continue having happy thoughts for a healthier YOU!
